Today at 9.33am my eldest daughter Kira, my mini me, turn 13. She is now officially a teenager. I would say it’s time to freak out, but she has been acting like a “pre-teen” from the age of 10. I know nothing and she apparently knows everything. When I am asked a question with a yes or no option, and she doesn’t get the answer she was looking for, every door gets slammed on the way to her room just for impact on how really annoyed she is. It’s no secret Kira and I have our moments, I have blogged about it before. And it was such a comfort to find out I was not alone. I was telling my girlfriend the other day some of the troubles we are having with her and I said to her [she had a look of horror on her face] but don’t judge her by what I say, because when she is good, she is amazing and she truly is, can not fault her. But my girlfriend was more concerned that she has a 6 year old daughter and was doing more than half of what I had stated, enjoyable times ahead for her.
Unfortunately I don’t have a lot of photos on my lap top from years before. And digital when Kira was born wasn’t even around, just yet. But I wanted to share some photos of my gorgeous young lady….
Kira got her i-pod and all the accessories that I bought with it, last night as hubby get’s up early for work and making her wait all day till she got home would be painful for me, haha. She loves it and didn’t stop playing it till it was bed time. This morning I gave her two smash books and smash pads etc. She not long woke, she has even started to sleep like a teenager and I will admit that I am a little jealous of all her sleep till lunch time, sleep ins she has been having these school holidays. But we are now on the move to go and pick up a friend she has staying and get a bunch of DVDs, she has requested to go to McDonalds for lunch and I mainly think this is because they have free wi-fi for her i-pod, lol.
And there she is above after not long waking and hugging the pillow pet that the girls HAD TO GET her for her birthday and Kira is stoked. While she is a teen, she’s not yet too cool for a pillow pet and I love that about her. xx
She’s beautiful Kellie, she looks just like you! Hope she had a fantastic birthday
You’ll have to let us know how teenagehood goes. My daughter is turning 5 in a week & 1/2. I can’t even imagine how things will be when she turns 13. She’s already stubborn, moody & ignoring me. Ugh.
thanks for sharing such sweet photos and story! it makes me miss my daughter so much, shes 21 and lives over 2,000 miles away. she also was a little difficult in her teen years but now we are best friends again like when she was little!
