Well I just wasted a good hour trying to re-do something on my blog that I think I can now admit defeat, having tried for the past few days off and on and OK I was lying, it’s been WAY longer than an hour, dang it. I even got dinner ready and served early to have it all done and then get parcels ready for posting tomorrow, and do a bunch of other things, but it just never happened, sometimes the net can be a trap.
So why the topic? Because I did just waste my night trying to do things that I have NO idea why I can not figure them out, no wiz bang computer nerd, but “usually” I can figure it out. BLOGGER is by far easier than wordpress and anyone who says differently clearly knows more than me haha. Blogger I can work myself around rather well, figure things out and no mumbo jumbo coding like WordPress.
So I think I can call it quits, save my nights to working and crafting and most often cleaning up after the day. So I have been on the look out for a designer and even this can take time out of your day, because you then get stuck looking at the portfolios and then the blogs in the port folio and then so on, I really don’t need to explain you all know where I am going right? Then comes the same old things since I started. To get a blogger blog designer or make over it can be $50-$200 cheaper than wordpress, which I can see why but gezz whizz…..
I have thought of moving over to blogger, but I’m not sure the posts can be imported and I don’t want to lose almost 4 years of blogging……. Wow that can’t be right surely not, I better get my fingers and toes out once I post this and figure it out haha…
SO if anything I am asking for HELP….. Do you know of a good wordpress designer? Often lately there are more and more that design blogger as well as wordpress. Not the case when I first started, BOY was it hard to come across just one. I had a friend that helped me out when I started and then I slowly started to learn things more and more myself. But I want a pretty looking blog, I want to stop wanting to change it every month, I want something that I just want to look at over and over again….. Not asking for much huh? I would love if you could leave a link in the comments section or email me kelliewinnell@gmail.com with anyone you know of. Maybe even when I get this all done the comments might start working they way they are meant to as well, might be a win/win.
I have a couple written down at the moment but no harm in asking about just in case.
I do however feel extremely sorry for the person that does take me on as I have no idea what I want, well I do and then I don’t and then I think I do……….. Yeah you see the pattern.
Thanks all so much in advance and now that I have spent WAY to much time, wasted half of it, I am going to bed right before midnight xo
WordPress is crazy!!! lol You can’t even come up with your own coding unless you have an upgrade and I hate that!!! lol
I love blogger! plus… I feel like me and blogger have a really nice love/hate relationship going on!
Kellie I have no names to share. I seriously dont, I have always done all my own blog design. However, when I first started blogging some five years ago I had a WordPress blog and moved it to Blogger successfully. I was so worried I’d lose everything and was prepared to do so …. but I didn’t. I worked behind the scenes on a pretend scenario until I knew it worked …. here’s a link that might be of assistance, takes the guesswork out of it.

And you are right …. Blogger is soooooooo much easier to use. WordPress looks more professional, but Blogger is less stressful. Especially now they have tidied up the interface and layouts!
Good luck!
not sure if this will help but their are heaps of designers on etsy worth a look

I open a blog at wordpress a while ago and never used it because I didn´t know how to make anything there…
Sorry, I can´t help you
Hope you can get help soon.
yeah, I’m having Lizzie pull her hair out working in wordpress for me. *sigh* I thought I was doing an upgrade going to that from blogger since blogger was having so many issues going down and everything. but yeah, not fun.
I love blogger!! And you can import a blog over at blogger.. if it will take the format you have written this in I don’t know.. but worth a try..
Umm… yesssss… wordpress is far more sophisticated and really requires a web designer to get something flash. Blogger is designed for the layman, so everyone can have a blog, from 6 years old to 60. Blogger has come a long way in the last few months too, far less glitches. Not that I recommend you change mind you. Too hard!

I will speak to “my technical department” (aka Hubby) and see what he recommends

I almost didn’t start a blog because I first tried to do it in Word Press…and I admit that HTML code was a new concept for me, but I can usually read something and figure it out…but not word press. Anyhoo I used Designer Blogs for my blog http://www.designerblogs.com/ and they work in both blogger and word press. Lauren was the designer I worked with. There is a bit of a que for them, but in my opinion it was worth the wait. They were the only company I contacted that actually had the professional courtesy to respond back and to provide detailed information as well as “menu” options so I knew exactly what I was paying for. And they actually listened to what I wanted and made changes very very fast when I requested it.
