My Top 10 Crafty Creations for 2012

New Blog

Before I get to my top 10.  I have decided that it’s time to move on from this here blog.  With the complications I am having with links and zip folders and what not. And no one really knowing why and wanting to start the new year in a good way, fresh!  I thought really hard on this, but not overly long, because it just felt right, right away when the idea came to me.  2013 will bring a fresh start for me.  And new blog, that I have been working hard on over the past few days.  I will have more SOON.

I can’t believe I am at this time of year and doing this again.  But it’s really is always so much fun to go back through my year and see how much I have grown.  Well I like to think I have, haha.  Here are my TOP 10 and I wrote a little something above each one. It’s almost 2013 here in Australia and that means it’s time to share my…

Top 10Way back in January 2012 in my card making days, this is one of my all time favourite cards that I made and I think it has absolutely everything to do with the image from Krista at Saturated Canary.

Jan

I don’t know why, but there is something whimsical about this smash page that makes it one of my favourites, because it’s so Heidi, so suiting.  Using image from AngieDelarie.

APRILThis what a RE-SCRAP.  You can find the blog post HERE…  I took an old scrapbook page and re-scrapped it.  It’s a photo of my mum and I and one that I have always just loved.  She looks so hippy, just like me.

AUGUSTMy first daybook that I completed and basically my only still.  And I loved absolutely every moment of it and love getting it out to flick through.  I had no theme, just added photos that I loved and made sure there was a bit of everyone.  Amy Tan [Tangerine] is amazing and I was lucky to meet her and get her to sign this very daybook!  Something I will now cherish forever.

029I love my sister, would do anything for her.  And I love when she comes to town for a weekend.  It’s almost like she feels she can be her again.  Not that is fake haha, but she gets to let down her hair and leave her stressful work life behind just for a little while and be a dag and an amazing aunty.  One of my favourite smash pages to date and I think it’s mainly because of the photos of Bashy…

OCT

I love this layout.  Am I aloud to say that?  We should be proud of what we do!  I got a mini kit from Jodie at Polka Dot Creative and while I was meant to be cooking dinner I kept coming back to this layout and it came together by the time dinner was on.  It all just came together so well and I love the photo of my mini me and I.

OCT1This was one of my first 12 x 12 layouts that I done.  It all came together so well and using Amy Tan products really does help, as they are so me!  I love doing a clutter in a corner and paint spots around that, that is my style [lately].  This was a Design Team work for Polka Dot Creative.

NOV2

I put this together to showcase my stamps and while I smudged the black ink spots and thought I wasn’t happy with it, the more I kept looking at it the more imperfectly perfect it was for my style.

NOV

Project Life didn’t play a BIG role in my life this year, not like I was hoping for.  But it did play a part of it.  2013 is going to be different I can feel it.  But till then I am still going to play catch up with 2012 and this week was done as part of a hop for Paper Issues and The Stamp Shop.

DECI made a few Christmas crafts and I actually wanted to list another 4, but of course I like them more so because they are my latest creations.  This happened when I did this last year.  i had to stop myself from wanting to pick all my latest crafts.  I was so pleased with how this turned out.  I am considering just leaving it there for the year on my door!

Stretchie, Stretch…

I know it may seem like I scrap Bow a lot more than Heidi and Kira, but in all honesty I do take more photos of that gal as she is home 3 days a week with me and you all know that I love my i-phone and instagram.  But I did just order a BUNCH of photos with more of my other two, so you will see more of them soon.  Mind you Kira wont take many pictures for me, but BOY does she not mind taking them herself on her i-pod.  I have done a few steals via Instagram lol.

I just can’t stop scrapping, I am loving getting back into it and this is another 12 x 12 layout.  I have been playing with my goodies from Jodie at Polka Dot Creative and of course you all know I am a huge fan of anything designed by Amy Tangerine.  Might go as far to say, this one has been my favourite so far.

The photo was taken when we went to Romsey to meet with Kristy and her little guy for lunch, we were almost there and she was getting tired, I couldn’t resist a photo op and love the glare.

Waffle and Princess

I actually have about 6 layouts to post about and at least 4 cards.  But it’s sitting down and editing the photos and what not.  Plus with having the 12 days of GIVEAWAYS I am falling behind on everything else I usually post. So today I decided I was going to get a layout post up on this blog if it killed me, well maybe not literally!

I love this paper from Amy Tangerine, Ready Set Go line and this was the paper that cracked me out of my comfort zone and had me tackle the 12 x 12 layouts again and am so happy I did.

Back when Kristy and I went on Stampin’ Up! Convention we were known by our close stampin friends as waffle’s and princess…

My Week Through the life of Instagram

I almost missed this, and you know what that means right?  Yup I would had back dated it haha!  BUT alas I am just in time over here in Australia it’s Monday night.  And I always prefer doing my week through instagram on a Monday.

How amazing was the weather in Australia over the weekend?  I soaked it up in more ways than one.  Kira and I hung out on the balcony with Pippa playing music, I crafted and then read my kindle while Kira sun baked and Pippa slept a lot.  Sunday I decided to try and attack the over growing [exotic flowers] aka weeds.  Got half way and decided a good days work, OK maybe not half way, close enough……….  ANY WAY, lol, we then walked to the park and got fish and chips.  When we got home that afternoon I rushed to do a weekly shop to then get back to reading on the balcony in the afternoon sun that was leaving us.

But enough waffle from me, this is my week through instagram….

  • Every time I look at this I want to break out in song, bloe my whistle baby, whistle baby…..  Bowzie has just learnt how to whistle and so when we go walking she’s a whistling away.  She used to remind me of King Julian from Madagasgar with his statement…. I would love to become a professional whistler, I’m pretty amazing at it now, but I want to get like even better….. Blows Raspberries….  That was about as good as she got lol!  [Yes it's my favourite part of the movie]…
  • I caked myself in sunscreen, but I forgot the back of my neck of course didn’t I?  I tell you didn’t make much of a difference, my shoulders still got burnt and I have to admit I’m trying to not move as much with the typing lol.
  • Saturday I got two lots of happy mail, yay and I loved this from Cathy.
  • Hubby took the little two to cricket for the day and so Kira and I soaked in the sun, and I decided to craft as well.
  • As soon as it hit 5pm OK I like it was like 3.30pm it was drink o’clock.
  • Pippa giving me kisses, she hung out with us too in the sun.
  • My happy mail from Cathy, eeeek, I can’t pick what I love more, I adore it ALL.
  • Mum, mum…..where’s the dong, dong?
  • Lol, Bowzie on her kindergarten jumper, because boys smell lol!
  • Sunday night is Big Brother night and after a busy weekend Pippa was out of it.  Funny because Bowzie has cat Pj’s on, hehe!
  • I stayed here most of Saturday and Sunday, my balcony in the sun reading, talking, hanging out with the family, we even had dinner there in Saturday night on a blanket, almost like a picnic.
  • I’m going to miss when she no longer wants to hold my hand.
  • She’s just too adorable.
  • If you have seen The Hangover then I don’t need to explain this AWESOME new tee.
  • Happy mail from my Paper Issues order!

I just noticed that I only have pictures of Bowzie!  I got a few of the girls on Sunday at the park but it was with my instax.  Because Chloe is home with me during the day I think to take photos more, I guess?

Have a great week amazing readers xx

I can NOT believe we are in October?  I bet I say this every month I have a giveaway, haha!  So be prepared for that as a warning in advance for next month.

This time I wanted to do something on the crafty side and what better way than a voucher?   I had a chat with Cassie the owner of Paper Issues [and she's awesome and has red hair, red head unit, haha], and she was more than happy for me to give this voucher away to one lucky reader…

World Cardmaking Day

Two places I am apart of an amazing design team and both are celebrating world card making day, in fact many places I have seen are.  And it’s so much fun and such an inspiration to see all the cards flowing.

I thought what better way to get myself to get into my Christmas card making.  And last night while I made another 3 [blogging during the week].  Here are the two companies I am part of that are sharing the celebration…

You can find the Paper Issues Facebook Page HERE…  and don’t forget to check out the Paper Issues store for all your card making needs and if you use my code you get 20% OFF and that is for EVERY time you place an order…

The other company is of course…

And some of the design team have made some amazing cards featuring the gorgeous twine from The Twinery and what is more exciting is that they are offering a giveaway!  So check out The Twinery Blog HERE…  For more details, but here is what the prize…

The colours are just gorgeous and perfect for the fact that it is Fall over in the States, while here we are Spring in Australia.

Here is my second Christmas card off the list of about 50, 2 down 48 to go.

I decided to get some white paint and add a faint sponge effect that went from faint to blob, blob, haha.  I used a lot of the October Afternoon that I ordered to make cards with and I am shocked I am actually sticking with it so far.  But then the designs are gorgeous and I am so inspired to keep going along with them.  I added some Studio Calico stars that you can get from HERE…

Polka Dot Creative HERE…. [an Australian online store for all you Aussie readers]…  I added some twine on the side from The Twinery and felt it was the perfect touch to finish off the card.

Some other companies also taking part in World Card Making Day are….

And I wanted to share 5 of my favourite cards I have made in my crafting life….  Most from last year because as most of you know I am not much of a card making girl these days, but after making these Christmas Cards, this might change…

Hope you are all having a great weekend.  BACK TO SCHOOL tomorrow and to be honest I can’t wait.  The girls were restless most of these holidays, but it’s getting to that time of year where we’ve had enough, they’ve had enough and just bring on the Christmas holidays already.  I better dash as Kira and I are thinking of heading to see Diary of a Whimpy Kid 3 and so there are things to get ready first so I don’t have to then come home and rush around doing them. xx

Instagram Monday… LINK UP

Monday comes around far to quickly if you ask me.  But I do love Monday’s because the two school girls go to school and Bow goes to Kindergarten and I feel like I get a bit of me time and get to clean up and not turn around and it’s a mess again, that happens when they all get home, but at least I know what it looks like clean haha!

We had a rather busy weekend and lots of photo taking moments!  Heidi went to a birthday party and I wanted to get some photos of her before she left and it turned out to be loads of photos of all 3 girls.  Hubby was away all weekend and I wanted to be able to show him.

Funny thing about the cat basket, my mum dropped it off as she no longer needs it.  I mentioned it was ugly and that my boy wont use it and it will just take up space.  BLOW ME down he walked right into the lounge room, it was still on the coffee table, he jumped up, hopped in and went to sleep!  And has been using it everyday since……….  I haven’t told mum yet, I am not about to admit I was wrong, I’m not silly lol!

SO here it is…..
