My Week Through Instragram

So this post has now posted three times including this one.  I decided to schedule posts that I do every week so they were ready, trouble was, you should add to the post as well, it kinda helps?

So before you even ask or think, yes, yes I am going to back date so this looks like it posted on the Monday, why?  Well because I can hahaha and I have to have it all in order.

I was having internet issues Sunday night, rang them Monday and turns out I thought it had been disconnected but it was actually the sim card in the USB stick, it wasn’t working, so went off and got a new one, rang the company [I got someone that loved to chat just as much as I did, and he was a laugh] to get it connected all good, wait 15 minutes…………waiting, waiting, waiting nothing.  Figure I would go down the street do a few things come back, still nothing.  Getting rather annoyed by now, not only did I have posts to do, I have accounts to get done [late-ish again, call me consistent?]  Pull the stick out and re-start computer still nothing?  I noticed the USB stick looked a bit bulky, figure I would re-insert the sim card, I look at the picture on the USB and realise I had the sim card in wrong…………………………………………..ooooooops!  It happens also it was Monday, haha!

So anyways over the weekend I went and stayed at Kristy’s in Bacchus Marsh, most of you that read my blog would be sick of me saying, but we meet online ooooooooo sounds romantic huh, haha.  And been close friends ever since.  I took Kira with me as Kristy has a daughter around the same age, we are trying to push them into being friends like we are, KIDDING, but we did joke about it.  Kristy has started blogging again, finally, after months of not blogging at all, you can check her out HERE…

Here is my week through instagram….

  • I don’t think I really need to introduce you all anymore to my gorgeous nephew, I think he has now made an appearance more than once, twice, ok a few times.  He is so adorable.
  • My food loves me and I sure did love it, haha!
  • Getting crafty at Kristy’s over the weekend, this was before the mess.
  • Pizza tower, this is how we roll, haha.
  • Pippa got to sleep with us.  Usually I go to bed to read, and Pippa comes with me to snuggle, hubby comes to bed and puts her in her own bed, but he got in and said she could stay and I think she knew it too.
  • I got a new toy and still am yet to play with it as I want to have time to sit and play so this weekend coming look out!
  • I have never had a small coffee, but how cute is the cup!
  • Peek at what I will be blogging this week, if I can get back on track….
  • Gorgeous boy sleeping.
  • Love this quote, sums it up.
  • And Kristy but behind her is an coppa car that was at the show and shine car show, there were so many amazing cars driving past, but this one caught my eye and says BADASS POLICE etc, love it.

So there you have my week through instagram.  Time to get cracka-lackin onto some accounts and try and get more posts together and in order.  Before they post picture-less haha. xx

Kinder Girl with Polka Dot Creative Mini Kit

The last LO using the mini kit, all I had left?  Was one bit of paper from the kit and even then I had punched out butterflies and circles.  I was so happy to use basically absolutely EVERYTHING!  This LO wasn’t meant to happen, I had made 2 already and a card and was packing up, I thought it would be interesting just to put the scraps and bits and bobs that were left to see what it would look like and that is how LO three was created.

I even used some scrap left over that had the circles punched out and love the effect!  And of course MORE butterflies, I even used a punched out scrap bit near the circle clock from a punched out butterfly.  I added some doilies  paint splatters and staples and a stamp from Ali Edwards and BAM another LO done.

Have a great weekend xx

My Mini Me with Polka Dot Creative Mini Kit

Here is yet another LO I did using the mini kit from Polka Dot Creative HERE…

Want to know how I did this LO?  Ok but promise not to laugh?  I made this one before the other one HERE… and the other one will be posted soon.  I got out the kit again and thought I would just get some photos ready for that night to get a LO made or two, never thought I would do 3.  And I was at the kitchen bench, I was also in the middle of getting tea ready…. What can I say?  Mulit tasking?  I managed to make this and get tea ready at the same time, back and forth from both and it only took me [all up not including getting back to dinner preparations] about 20 minutes, everything just fell into place, love those type of days and so I didn’t want to stop the creativity while it was there.  Here is the LO in question…

I know, WHAT NO KRAFT, I shocked myself haha!  I did spray some Moon Shadow Mist that was meant to be blue, but was brown and to be honest I think the brown looks better than the blue would had.

I can’t wait for the next kit already!

Have a great weekend everyone xx

Polka Dot Creative Mini Kit Scrap Book Layout

I recently bought a mini kit from Polka Dot Creative HERE…  If you follow my blog facebook page then you would had seen the link added yesterday.  I sat down not thinking it would be possible to do a LO because the theme of the papers is very work looking, but once I stopped looking at it like that, the scrapping happened and 3 layouts and a card later, I could not get over how much I made using just this one little amazing kit!  Here is a picture of the kit from Polka Dot Creative’s Facebook Page HERE…

So as you can see a bunch of goodies and some paper to add to it.  I sat at my kitchen table while Kira did her home work and only used the kit and of course kraft and a doily, you all know I love my doilies.  Here is one of the LO’s I came up with…

I am really happy with how this came out.  I hadn’t used my butterfly punch in some time and this reminded me to grab out some punches.  I used the circle one to make the scallop look under the photo.  I was going to add the title, your my type [aka the typewriter] but I felt that it already had enough detail.  OH and I added a stamp from the FREE gift I got with last months Ali Edwards stamp kit.

My blog has still been creative with every day life, but not as much creative as of late, but that is about to change.  I have more LO’s to post and more cards to post and I can’t wait to make even more!

xx

October Stache Smash Bash Hop

Welcome to another hop with the SMASHING SISTERS.  It feels like forever since we had the last one huh?  The girls and I decided to do them every other month, OF COURSE one would think that would make you more organised right?  WRONG, not me, I’m a leave it till last minute sort of girl, aka just did this today, and had more time than I thought I had being that we were going off Lizzie our hosts timeline and I’m in Australia and she is all the way over the ocean, so while I rushed, turns out I made it with enough time to spare.

So welcome to our…

And if you have come from the gorgeous Krista HERE… and her amazing smashing page that has no doubt left you inspired and wanting more [she's a tuff person to be after with her amazing talent] then you are on the right track.  If not you can start at our organiser this month and our head sister this month I guess you could say, my GS, Lizzie HERE..

Want to know what we/I am giving away?  Angie one of the smashing sisters, has been busy and has offered us all this to give away, which is SUPER suiting to our theme this month…., have use guessed it yet?  I think my blog title said it all haha!  Lizzie picked our theme this month, love it!

I will announce the winner on the 16th of October.  So get your comments in by the 15th.

HOW amazing is he and the mustaches that come with him?  Better yet, how amazing is Angie?  Check out here online store at Angie Delarie’s Embellishments HERE…

Now onto my smashing page, it has been a while since I did a smash page, and it was fun to get back into it again, sometimes you forget just how much you miss doing something you hadn’t done in a while.  I decided to use my Blue Retro Smash Book [I bought another one because I wasn't overly happy with my first smash attempts, it was the first book I used, WHAT?  Don't act like you wouldn't do it too hehe!]  All you Australian girls can get yours HERE… at Polka Dot Creative.

I had to do this page with that photo, it’s so funny and so matching that you would almost think I got Bowzie to pose just for this page, but nope I asked her to smile actually lol.  It was taken some time last year, and that is chocolate all over her face, Kira taught her if you hold your Easter eggs near the heater they melt and taste yummy, problem is, the mess left behind all over her face.  And after telling them several times not to, Bow walked into me and the conversation went a little like….

  • Bow did you melt your eggs in front of the heater again….
  • No……
  • Are you sure?…..
  • Yes
I lifted her to the mirror, her face had BUSTED written all over it, then her cheeky grin.
WHAT I USED : I used a bit of this and that and OH that too.  Some Echo Park stickers, Amy Tangerine stickers and alphas, butterfly punch, wooden birds and stars from Studio Calico, Tape from Angie Delarie and other bits.  NOTICE the mustache I added the the old cobber, haha.  Very suiting if you as me?  They were in a bunch of things from Norma [thank you].
Next on your stop is the amazing Angie and the owner of Angie Delarie and the girl that designed the amazing giveaway for us sisters!  Check her out HERE…
HOP LIST :

My Week Through Instagram

Today is Monday here in Australia and it means that it’s time for my girls to go back to school and kindergarten.  I am not going to tell you that size of the smile on my face right now due to the peace in the house for the first time in 2 weeks……..  But you can picture it, haha.  I do love having the girls home and we did have some fun, but it’s also this time of year that everyone starts getting restless and ready for the Summer holidays, not long now!

I missed last weeks post with my instagram photos, main reason is – school holidays – trying to get an hour to myself to post – wasn’t happening lol!

SO here is my week through instagram, you can find me @giveagirlablog

  • Kira with one of the cows at Shepparton, she’s milking a dino cow.
  • How to really get your 13 year old embarrassed   Pull over and make her get photos on the main road of Shepparton and then pretend to kiss it in front of her, lol!
  • I love this cow.
  • Another with Kira and I and the cow in question.  It was both our favourite and she had warmed up by this photo.
  • Kira and I in Shepparton before walking in to see Diary of a Whimpy Kid 3 at the movies on Sunday and we LOVED it.

So there you have it, my week through instagram.

We were meant to go to the zoo once again this weekend just gone and ONCE again another crappy weather weekend.  But all in all we went to the movies a fair bit and I loved every one we saw!  We saw Madagascar 3, Hotel Transylvania and Diary of a Whimpy Kid 3 [that last one was just Kira and I, the girls liked it on DVD but not sure about seeing it in the movies].  Next holidays hubby said we will DEFINITELY be going to the zoo and I can not wait, half because I know the girls will love them and the other is because, AMAZING scrapbook photos here we come, hahaha….  xx

He Would Had Been 27 Today…

Sometimes I think when we blog about our personal lives, we forget that people actually read them, I know I am guilty of this.  I get emails from people, to let me know they liked my post that day, or they feel like we have the same thoughts, ideas or just to chat.  I love this about blogging, I think it brings total strangers together, and in fact I have many friends that I have met just because of blogging.  I have stated that my blog is not just about craft anymore, but about my life, my kids and everything in between.  I might not share everything with you, like what I had for dinner last night, which was pizza in case you were curious haha, or what time I got up.  But if I feel the need to share something that happened or on my mind, I am going to.  I love reading back through my blog, it’s almost like a diary and it reminds me something the girls and I did or where I went, who I saw, what they said and photos I no longer have saved on my laptop are all on my blog.

While today’s post is not an easy one, I have the need to share and get it out there and some what off my chest I guess you could say. When I type my beliefs and thoughts on some of the following topics, I am not doing so to hurt anyone and look down on those that do believe.  I just wanted to point this out, because I would hate to think someone would read this and take it the wrong way, it’s not my intention.

Today is my brother’s birthday and he would had been 27.  But he’s not here to celebrate, as some of you may know from reading my blog that my brother passed away in a car accident when he was a young 17 year old, just shy of turning 18.  As I have mentioned before, Shane had so much going for him, he could do anything with a ball, and was playing for the Jr. Melbourne Tigers, he even went to China for the team.  My father in law always says, he was so good with a football, but for Shane basketball was his thing.  And boy did I know about it, my eyes would glaze over when he or mum would tell me about the game.  I was a typical loving sister, haha.

I have always had a open mind about things, life after death, god, spirits and all the in between.  But when you lose someone so close and so young, it made me question EVERYTHING. I remember Shane’s close friend and I sitting and talking for hours about everything we used to believe and how we now question it, even to this day I still do. How can someone go to a better place, when they had life?  Isn’t life better than not having it?  I had always been to catholic schools growing up and it wasn’t until I was 12 did mum move us to a public school and then onto a public high school, so I was bought up knowing the catholic sides of things, even known I am not.

To me I don’t understand how people can follow god and then have someone taken from them and say it’s because it was gods will?  Don’t they get hurt?  Don’t they blame him?  It really is something that has baffled me since he’s passing, and still to this day.

The one thing we all say is that it’s like he knew something was going to happen, he tied up ALL his lose ends and I don’t mean just a few, I mean all of them.  It always makes me wonder if he had a sense of knowing.  I’m not saying he knew it was going to happen, but whether or not he had the urge without knowing why.

[SHANE WITH OUR COUSIN]

I don’t really know why when he’s birthday comes up every year, I think of him more than usual, but I think mainly because when it’s his birthday we would had been doing something, going somewhere, celebrating and it’s a reminder that he’s not here any more.

It gets easier, sure, but the pain always remains the same.  I have always feel like there is a piece in my life missing or just not right, and I truly believe it’s the knowing that I wont be able to see Shane again, watch him grow old, be at family gatherings, watch him get married and live the life he should had.

We had the typical brother sister relationship, we always had something on one another to stop one another from tell mum something [our parents were separated] . We fought like cats and dogs.  But at the end of the day, we would do ANYTHING for one another, when all said and done and although we never said it, I mean we were teenagers, we loved each other as much as a brother and sister can.

While I am sad, I also love remembering all the good times, and the laughing we all did together, and how much fun we could have together.

Thank you for reading my post and getting to the end of this very long post xx

The Elf on The Shelf

I just had to come and share this with all my readers.  I found out about this last year, but it was during the December when all the pictures, blog posts and instagram pictures started showing up.  I loved the idea behind it and got a kick out of seeing what people had come up with. I was going to buy one, pretty sure it was from amazon and all together was about $60 or more, ebay if I remember correctly was not much better.  Being that it was already December I decided against it.  Telling myself to get in earlier this year.

This is where I am so grateful to be apart of some of the facebook groups I am apart of and especially the Australian Project Life Group.  Not only are the members all amazing, but we always share ideas, specials and much more.  Thanks to Betty, as she posted about The Elf on the Shelf and not only that she found a place that sells them cheap and FREE shipping worldwide, get out of town… Check it out HERE…

I have mentioned it’s school holidays they have 2 weeks off here Australia. I just placed my order, not that long ago EXCITED.  And I showed Kira and we started going through pinterest and google to get ideas and now have a bunch saved into a folder on my laptop.  Looks like he might have the name RALPHIE.  As Kira is 13 she is in the know *wink, wink* and will be my helper.

I have a feeling he might even leave a list with chores for the girls, haha, cruel mother.

So there is another thing that will be going in my December Daily.  I am feeling excited about this Christmas, but ask me that in November when no doubt I am pulling my hair out because I am not even ready!

My Week Through Instagram

EDITED : – Some people are asking me how I do the layout with my intagram photos for my weekly posts.  I use the free program GIMP.  And I also add text in there too.

The week just gone was a quite one but not, we just started school holidays here in Australia for the next two weeks the girls will be at home with me.  I am REALLY excited as we are going to the zoo this weekend, YAY, I think I am WAY more excited than the girls!

Time to check out my week through instagram…

  1. I didn’t even need a coke, but when I was walking past I noticed my birth year and then many others, so of course I had to grab 1982.

  4. Kristy and I at her house as hubby and I went there on Saturday for a BBQ.

Are you doing a December Daily?  Did you do one last year?  I would love if you left a link in the comments so I could check it out and get some ideas and more inspiration for the one I plan on doing this year. xx
