My Top 10 Crafty Creations for 2012

Before I get to my top 10. I have decided that it’s time to move on from this here blog. With the complications I am having with links and zip folders and what not. And no one really knowing why and wanting to start the new year in a good way, fresh! I thought really hard on this, but not overly long, because it just felt right, right away when the idea came to me. 2013 will bring a fresh start for me. And new blog, that I have been working hard on over the past few days. I will have more SOON.

I can’t believe I am at this time of year and doing this again. But it’s really is always so much fun to go back through my year and see how much I have grown. Well I like to think I have, haha. Here are my TOP 10 and I wrote a little something above each one. It’s almost 2013 here in Australia and that means it’s time to share my…

Way back in January 2012 in my card making days, this is one of my all time favourite cards that I made and I think it has absolutely everything to do with the image from Krista at Saturated Canary.

I don’t know why, but there is something whimsical about this smash page that makes it one of my favourites, because it’s so Heidi, so suiting. Using image from AngieDelarie.

This what a RE-SCRAP. You can find the blog post HERE… I took an old scrapbook page and re-scrapped it. It’s a photo of my mum and I and one that I have always just loved. She looks so hippy, just like me.

My first daybook that I completed and basically my only still. And I loved absolutely every moment of it and love getting it out to flick through. I had no theme, just added photos that I loved and made sure there was a bit of everyone. Amy Tan [Tangerine] is amazing and I was lucky to meet her and get her to sign this very daybook! Something I will now cherish forever.

I love my sister, would do anything for her. And I love when she comes to town for a weekend. It’s almost like she feels she can be her again. Not that is fake haha, but she gets to let down her hair and leave her stressful work life behind just for a little while and be a dag and an amazing aunty. One of my favourite smash pages to date and I think it’s mainly because of the photos of Bashy…

I love this layout. Am I aloud to say that? We should be proud of what we do! I got a mini kit from Jodie at Polka Dot Creative and while I was meant to be cooking dinner I kept coming back to this layout and it came together by the time dinner was on. It all just came together so well and I love the photo of my mini me and I.

This was one of my first 12 x 12 layouts that I done. It all came together so well and using Amy Tan products really does help, as they are so me! I love doing a clutter in a corner and paint spots around that, that is my style [lately]. This was a Design Team work for Polka Dot Creative.

I put this together to showcase my stamps and while I smudged the black ink spots and thought I wasn’t happy with it, the more I kept looking at it the more imperfectly perfect it was for my style.

Project Life didn’t play a BIG role in my life this year, not like I was hoping for. But it did play a part of it. 2013 is going to be different I can feel it. But till then I am still going to play catch up with 2012 and this week was done as part of a hop for Paper Issues and The Stamp Shop.

I made a few Christmas crafts and I actually wanted to list another 4, but of course I like them more so because they are my latest creations. This happened when I did this last year. i had to stop myself from wanting to pick all my latest crafts. I was so pleased with how this turned out. I am considering just leaving it there for the year on my door!

December Daily Day 2

A post a day so far get out of town, who would had thought I could do that, haha.

That’s right I not only skipped the cover, but also day 1, I am bad to the bone! Honestly I love the concept of the December Daily, but why I think I can do it is beyond me. I don’t really have a photo printing system at home, the one I use online takes about 2-3 weeks to get to me sometimes more, but I love the quality. And I am forever forgetting to take my instax with me. Maybe next year I should set an alarm every day TAKE YOUR INSTAX… I did just buy more ink for the printer I do have, that I bought last year with Christmas money that was advertised as a photo printer that really isn’t all that good and more of a journalling card, digital stamps sort of printer. I do plan on just printing a few photos regardless and getting this daily done. I am determined NOT to let it beat me this year. Before the end of the year? OK that is a lie, there is no way I could do that, even I was kidding myself there, haha. Maybe lets aim for half done by the end of the year.

Kindergarten Christmas Party and Saturated Canary Giveaway

I thought I would share a quick little post about the kindergarten Christmas party I went to last night for Bowzie. We ventured to the kindergarten for the end of year kindergarten concert I guess you could call it. We all sit on blankets and have picnics with our kids and family and then the kids all preform for us. And OH I must not forget that Santa comes along as well! Mind you I fed the kids before we left and we just took snacks, I know my girls and they would had been jumping out of their skin to play and I wasn’t wrong, so getting them to eat would had been a struggle. This year Kira and Hubby decided to stay back. Hubby has been so busy lately leading up to Christmas that he not long got home before we had to leave again.

It was a fun night and the little two had a blast running about, little hard to get them out of bed this morning. But I think what topped my night was walking in to see Bow talking to our Elf on the Shelf, Winkles, telling him all about it and how she got to meet Santa, and she said… But I didn’t tell him about you Winkles, because that’s a secret and I wont tell our secret.

My Week Through Instagram

Another week closer to Christmas, I wish I could say I was ready, but I am not. I am not that far off I guess, But it’s also another week closer to hubby because on Christmas holidays and I can not WAIT! Hub doesn’t take any time off during the year unless public holidays and I always love having him home. And it’s closer to us going camping, which I am actually looking a little forward to this year.

I am mixing a bit of this week and last week with this post…

I decided to make my own wreath this year. I have had the foam circle for a while now just didn’t know what to do with it. I have started and just need to finish it and will no doubt blog about it.
I took the girls to the local pool on Saturday just gone with it being rather hot here, they had a ball.
I set up little lights all over our heater/fire place [it has a heater but I call it fireplace, haha], and all around our tv…
The Saturday not just gone the one before I decided to race paint my binder for December Daily because going on our anniversary adventure and BOY what an adventure it was!
Kira with Tamsin jumping off the diving blocks, I failed a few times and had to make them re-jump.
Bowzie always loves stopping in the bakery when I go to the post office and she couldn’t believe they had Christmas tree biscuits.
I’m not sure if Bashy or Bowzie’s face cracks me up more, dags.

Kira from the past Sunday when we went and got a tree. Mind you she gave up after a while and I got lost getting there about 5 times, but we made it in the end.

My poor car. After she failed to get us to Shepparton, only just for our anniversary day. I was peeved as I really wanted to get some Christmas shopping done and dusted bugger it.
I walked away to get my paint and came back to this fella on my binder, cheeky bugger.

My Week Through Instagram

It’s been a while huh? I love doing these, just the way I do it can take a little time, resizing adding text etc and what not, but non the less I love sharing my week and what we have been up to and more times than not mostly my girls. I wont go back and do each week I missed otherwise it would for one take forever to load and second by the time I had done it half my day would be gone as I think I’ve missed maybe 4 weeks, give or take a few? So here is my past week through my all time favouorite app in the world, YES I love it that much…

You could say Wyatt cracked it BIG time when we got Pippa, he went from always being with me to not wanting to be around us. But lately in the past month he’s warmed to her. I mean I can see where he’s coming from, the moment he walks in Pippa is all excited and licking him, trying to play with him, and he’s like BUGGER off dog… He even came and sat in my craftroom with me like he used to every time I crafted, given there was actually a floor for him to lay I guess, might had helped.
The girls with their pink santa hats on [this is stolen from Kira on her instagram]. We had a Christmas party yesterday, YES they are already starting, scary! And I gave the girls all pink santa hats to wear.
Kira and I on Friday night when we took Pippa for a walk and I stopped in my aunt/cousins house and Kira walked Pippa home.
Chloe was so excited to have a butterfly on her, she was pretty adorable.
I got the next lot of my stamps in which meant I could send out all the pre-orders waiting and was loving packaging the orders. Even known it took some time, it still made me happy in doing so.
I honestly don’t know if this was Monday or Wednesday, my days are mushing in together. What ever day it was, it was a McLatte sort of day.
Seriously Bowzie’s face CRACKS me up in this photo Kira took when they were mucking about when Heidi and I were watching Brave. We watched it heaps over the weekend.
Getting my December Daily things together. Now just waiting on the album and the rest and I can really get ready. I’m freaking out I will be behind, but have a plan to try and keep up, by finishing it this time next year, KIDDING!
This cracks me up! I went out to dinner last night with my aunt and cousin which was AMAZING pizza’s, wood fire ones, YUM. And I went to check on the girls when I got home, hubby said they might just still be awake but after going to the Christmas party that afternoon, not a chance, and this had me running to get my phone…
A clean desk that I can actually craft on, get out of town! And write blog posts on, like this very one here, how long will it last? I give it a week, tops haha!
Clean buffet, I started painting this almost same time last year, still need to do the bottom half, but looking at it now, I kinda like it like that.
This is what Bow did to me and again not sure if it was Monday or Wednesday. But it’s along the kindergarten fence and I was almost to my car and I heard mum, mummy kiss…. I’m not going to pass that one up.

So there you have it, finally my week through my instagram. I am predicting a lot of instagram in my December Daily, how I know this? I must be physic right? xx

Stretchie, Stretch…

I know it may seem like I scrap Bow a lot more than Heidi and Kira, but in all honesty I do take more photos of that gal as she is home 3 days a week with me and you all know that I love my i-phone and instagram. But I did just order a BUNCH of photos with more of my other two, so you will see more of them soon. Mind you Kira wont take many pictures for me, but BOY does she not mind taking them herself on her i-pod. I have done a few steals via Instagram lol.

I just can’t stop scrapping, I am loving getting back into it and this is another 12 x 12 layout. I have been playing with my goodies from Jodie at Polka Dot Creative and of course you all know I am a huge fan of anything designed by Amy Tangerine. Might go as far to say, this one has been my favourite so far.

The photo was taken when we went to Romsey to meet with Kristy and her little guy for lunch, we were almost there and she was getting tired, I couldn’t resist a photo op and love the glare.

Brother from another Mother

The title is a bit out there, but something I said to my cousin the other night when we were texting and mucking about. And together we can be a bit out there and different, haha, but at least we know what we are talking about. My cuz lives just down the road from us and we have movie/TV night’s [aka The Walking Dead], at least once a week or fortnight. I was really bummed when he told me that he was moving back to Townsville in January 2013, because he had lived there for about 5 years before coming back and been back about 2 years now, or there abouts. But he has assured me he wont be there that long this time, and hey, gives me a holiday house!

I went back to my A4 ways, but not with kraft, nope I went with off white or cream or what ever you like to call it. And I was pretty happy with how it turned out.

Horsing Around with Bashy

Well I used to do a “Smashing Sunday” every Sunday and to be honest I am not sure if I will do it again, just for the fact that I don’t “just” do smashing these days, but project life, scrapbooking, cardmaking and smashing as well as a little day booking here and there. Don’t get me wrong I am still going to blog about my sash pages, but most likely not on a regular basis.

Which brings me to a smash page I did early last week. of my daggy sister… And after seeing a crafty friend of mine, Karyn’s it was a great inspiration to use this page…

I used a bunch of things here, from October Afternoon, to Amy Tangerine and even Echo Park. Mostly stickers. Here is a little close up of the main page…

I also added the tag to hang in the middle you might had seen? On it is another of my sister sitting on our balcony when she was up last soaking in what a gorgeous day.

My Week Through the life of Instagram

I almost missed this, and you know what that means right? Yup I would had back dated it haha! BUT alas I am just in time over here in Australia it’s Monday night. And I always prefer doing my week through instagram on a Monday.

How amazing was the weather in Australia over the weekend? I soaked it up in more ways than one. Kira and I hung out on the balcony with Pippa playing music, I crafted and then read my kindle while Kira sun baked and Pippa slept a lot. Sunday I decided to try and attack the over growing [exotic flowers] aka weeds. Got half way and decided a good days work, OK maybe not half way, close enough………. ANY WAY, lol, we then walked to the park and got fish and chips. When we got home that afternoon I rushed to do a weekly shop to then get back to reading on the balcony in the afternoon sun that was leaving us.

But enough waffle from me, this is my week through instagram….

Every time I look at this I want to break out in song, bloe my whistle baby, whistle baby….. Bowzie has just learnt how to whistle and so when we go walking she’s a whistling away. She used to remind me of King Julian from Madagasgar with his statement…. I would love to become a professional whistler, I’m pretty amazing at it now, but I want to get like even better….. Blows Raspberries…. That was about as good as she got lol! [Yes it's my favourite part of the movie]…
I caked myself in sunscreen, but I forgot the back of my neck of course didn’t I? I tell you didn’t make much of a difference, my shoulders still got burnt and I have to admit I’m trying to not move as much with the typing lol.
Saturday I got two lots of happy mail, yay and I loved this from Cathy.
Hubby took the little two to cricket for the day and so Kira and I soaked in the sun, and I decided to craft as well.
As soon as it hit 5pm OK I like it was like 3.30pm it was drink o’clock.

Sunday night is Big Brother night and after a busy weekend Pippa was out of it. Funny because Bowzie has cat Pj’s on, hehe!
I stayed here most of Saturday and Sunday, my balcony in the sun reading, talking, hanging out with the family, we even had dinner there in Saturday night on a blanket, almost like a picnic.
I’m going to miss when she no longer wants to hold my hand.
She’s just too adorable.

I just noticed that I only have pictures of Bowzie! I got a few of the girls on Sunday at the park but it was with my instax. Because Chloe is home with me during the day I think to take photos more, I guess?

[I just wanted to show how long my little Pippa Dippa's ears are. That and she was aloud to sleep with us again and even last night as well, hubby really must be going soft].

LOVING : I am loving that I have caught up on my washing as of Wednesday and *touchwood* have stayed on top of it even today. Hubby asked if I was sick, OH he’s a comedian, right? It makes it easier having smaller loads that is for sure. Will I stay on top of it? I wont lie, probably not, but while I am, I am SO boosting about it.

READING : I just started a new book Wednesday night, Dirty Blood by Heather Hildenbrand. I had started reading the Black Dagger Brotherhood again and loving it, but wanted to have a little break from them. Do any of you get like that? When your reading a series you just need that little break? I read 4 of them in a row in a little over a week, still a few more to go.

WATCHING : Well I am watching my computer screen right now and these words being typed haha! But tonight is movie night where we go and hire DVDs and I want to get That’s My Boy and Rock of Ages…. Anyone seen them? Any good?

ANTICIPATING : Christmas….. COME on don’t tell me you haven’t all noticed how close it’s getting? I was even already thinking about getting a few crafty things to record our camping holiday over the holidays? I went and skipped Christmas and straight to holidays, haha, just goes to show how craft really does take over. And yes I do craft while camping, the guys find it hilarious at start, now they are used to it and try and find better lighting for me at night, haha. So really Kellie : 1 – Guys – 0, lol. I am trying this whole get organised thing, trial and error thing, more error than trial haha.

LISTENING TO :

PLANNING : FINALLY I don’t have to say planning on catching up with my washing, but look out for it next time haha. Instead getting more Christmas cards made over the weekend, a couple of smash pages, washing, cleaning, a week or two of my project life, play with my cameo [yet to do so] and stop eating peanut butter out of the jar – I type while having a spoon hanging out of mouth.

WORKING ON : This post, haha. I actually will be working on a photo frame idea over the weekend. Maybe a post coming during the week next week if it works out.

WISHING : That is was Summer. I know, I know I even shock myself when I say that. As I am a redhead and heat and I don’t overly mix, moody is a word I would use and even then I am being nice to myself, hahaha…. Mind you I don’t mean 40+, slap you in the face when you open the door, can’t breath, the fridge becomes the best seat in the house with the door closed [I don't really do this, I might had opened and stood in front of it a while longer than needed], and your ice-cream melts before you even get a lick. But you know warmer weather, it’s long over due and mother nature if your listening, I am more than ready when you are.
